Reviews For Taste Of Home Magazine

Fabulous cooking with no ads.

I have had a subscription to Taste of Home for 4 years, and I have loved every issue. It has recipes that can be used in any setting. They have special categories for each issue, and most of the recipes come from everyday cooks. I find that each issue has recipes for any course in your
meal.

There is one problem with some of the recipes, however. A lot of them do have a high fat content to them. The people who submit these recipes are not nutritionists so the ingredients can be high in fat and calories. I think, though, that if you are a knowledgeable cook, you can substitute healthier ingredients.

Each issue is packed from cover to cover with recipes. And a wonderful bonus to all of the great recipes, is the fact that there is no commercial advertising in any issue. This leaves a lot of room for pictures. All of there featured contests and recipe subjects come with lots of pictures. I find this very useful when deciding if a particular recipe is right for my family.

If you truly like to cook wholesome, tasty, and nutritious meals for your family, I think you will like this magazine. It is pretty costly if you pay the cover price for each issue. The subscription gives you a lot of value for your money. It also makes a great gift for newlyweds or college bound adults.

NO OUT OF THE BOX COOKS HERE!

Taste of Home is the BEST! It has brought me back to the kitchen to cook real meals instead of preparing everything out of the box! The recipes are easy to follow and can be prepared by using ingredients that are mainstays in any cupboard!

I have tried many of the recipes in the magazine and the annual cookbook! I love them! My mom, two of my aunts, and three cousins all subscribe to this magazine! Needless to say we eat really well when we all get together!

I get this magazines because the recipes are easy to use, and most important they TASTE GOOD!

Great For People Who Love to Cook

Taste Of Home Magazine is an excellent magazine. It has tons of recipes that can be used everyday and the best part is that most of the recipes call for ingredients that you already have on hand. Nothing that is hard to find or something that you will never use again. The best part about this magazine is that there are no advertisements in it. You really get your money's worth. Also they have recipe cards that you can cut out and add to your recipe box. I use to buy Mr. Food's Cooking Magazine until I discovered Taste of Home.

Fantastic

I buy this magazine as it features recipes that are tried, true and thoroughly enjoyed by the readers. It offers it's readers a chance to submit recipes to the magazine and offers contests thorough out the year for reader's recipes.
This is much different then say Canadian Living where recipes are tested in a test kitchen. These recipes are tried and true since they are made by the actual home cook for many years in some cases before the reader submits it to the magazine. I enjoy the wide selection available and the fact they offer tasty low fat or diabetic recipes too.
Another good magazine that you will enjoy is Taste's of Home offspring, Quick Cooking, again featuring recipes that are tried and true in our homes.
I buy it off the new stands about 6-8 times a year, as to get a subscription here in Canada can be quite costly due to the up and down of the exchange rate for our dollar. Pick one up today.

Stick to Your Ribs Food!

If you constantly scramble for meal ideas and want recipes for something hearty, subscribe to Taste of Home. After purchasing it a couple of times from a local store I decided to subscribe and I've been very pleased since. Many of us get sooo tired of cooking the same thing week to week. If I want to make something new, I just pull out my collection and start flipping! The great thing about this magazine is that most of the recipes call for items we pretty much already have stocked on our shelves. Why is that important to most of us? How many times have we decided to forego making a recipe because we figured the investment in spices, etc. just wasn't worth the hassle? I also recommend this magazine to newly married females who are nervous about cooking for their hubbies. These meals are hearty and there are hardly any leftovers! Another plus to this magazine is that it is full of pictures unlike most cookbooks so you can easily visualize what you are in for. The magazine is affordable and well worth the money! Another similar magazine to consider is Mr. Food.

What's for Supper?

I am a busy wife and mom that is constantly looking for new, easy recipes. Taste of Home offers an array of recipes that range from simple to more complicated. The color pictures that accompany the recipes give the cook an idea of how the dish should look once it is prepared. In addition to recipes, this magazine also offers many helpful household hints. Taste of Home is a top-notch magazine that I would recommend for all cooks, whether they are beginners or experts in the kitchen. It is produced bi-monthly by Reiman Publications. It contains NO ADVERTISING so there is NO wasted space.

Tasty!

This magazine is just about the best in its class! There are no advertisements and it offers something for everyone. There is a page to encourage the children to eat and to cook. There is a "contest" for those so inclined! The recipes are wonderful, down to earth, and include ingredients that can be found in any pantry and/or market. All the food is presented in a colorful, appetizing manner. Each issue features a "Mom's" favorite meal with recipes, an index of all recipes included in that issue, letters with requests for anyone to answer or provide, a favorite restaurant of a reader, etc. I have been a subscriber for 6 or 7 years and my current subscription will continue for a couple more years and before that runs, I'll renew! The publishers are really onto to something with their magazines.

My Favorite Cooking Magazine

Have you ever found what looked like a really great recipe only to make it and it tasted awful, like something from your old high school cafeteria? Well you won't find recipes like that in Taste Of Home. I just love this magazine. There are very few ads which is refreshing. The center section is several pages of recipes on cards that you can cut out and file right into your recipe box. I don't think I've ever had a bad recipe from this magazine. They are all reader submissions and are tested by regular people around the country in their own kitchens. If you are just looking for good, homemade food, you will love Taste Of Home! I don't really remember how much my subscription cost but it is reasonable and definitely worth it.

Great for people who like country recipes

Taste of home is one of the best magazine's I feel out there. I've been getting it for the past three years.

It has all kinds of great home cooked recipes in it. There is recipes on a subscriber's favorite meal, ones on low-fat dishes, potluck pleasures, making a complete meal in minutes, recipes for one or two people and dishes kids can make. Every issue also has a specific topic like brownies in which it has a whole bunch of recipes just pertaining to that topic.

There is also information on party themes that subscribers send in. It states decorations for the party and dishes to make following the theme. Thinking of remodeling your kitchen. In every issue there is a kitchen that has been remodeled. There is before and after pictures shown and an explanation of how the remodeling was done. When I remodeled my kitchen I used past issues as a reference.

This one is great

I have been a subscriber to this magazine for about a year now and I have to say, it's one of the best out there for recipes. I find that they have such a wide variety of recipes that it suits everyone's tastes. I enjoy reading the articles about some of the "recipe submitters" because it helps you to understand where they got the recipe from and sometimes how it came about. I also like the feature of the "tear out" recipe cards of every recipe in the magazine. This is a HUGE plus for me, because I can just cut them out and file them in my own recipe box without having to copy it down onto a recipe card. This magazine has a variety of recipes that range from beginners level to professional. The best thing about it to me is that it is "country" cooking for the most part. I enjoy that, because that's what I was raised learning to cook. This is a wonderful magazine that is nice given as a gift subscription.
