Reviews For Runners World Magazine

put on those shoes

Runner's World may frustrate the hard-core runner who wants something focused just on them, but this is a great running magazine for just about anyone else (including people who want to save their knees).

Articles focus on marathoners as well as tips for runners at other stages, inspiration for finishing races, etc. Many pieces on cross-training and on getting started again after taking a break from running.

It's comforting for a beginner (or slow runner) to know that you don't have to go run for a half-hour seven days a week (or whatever) to benefit from running. I enjoy reading advice on hills, on how to save your knees, and on walking-running. Diet advice seems healthful and sensible.

Runner's World

Runner's world is a great magazine for the avid runner. If you have any interest in running, then this magazine is perfect for you! It deals with things such as injuries, workouts, weight-loss plans, eating habits, the best sneakers, and famous runners and their success. If you are a competitive runner, this magazine will give you helpful running tips and motivate you to keep working hard. It is also a magazine that gives good advice to its readers. I subscribe to this magazine for all these reasons, especially because of its inspirational stories that make me a determined runner. I would recommend this magazine to anyone who enjoys running as a hobby or is a very competitive runner.

Motivation on paper...

To explain the true strength of a magazine like Runner's World, one must first look at it's density and ability to lure all audiences... and one of the toughest would naturally be the teenage audience. Yet this magazine has succeeded because this teen is an avid reader of the magazine. I devote at least two hours per issue every time I am graced with its presence in the mail.
Ok, that part was a bit sappy, but I am telling you once you read an issue in the magazine you will be tempted to TRY if not dedicate yourself to running. They range from the basics of first time runner's in their middle ages to the experience multi-marathon runner's. There is a diverse variety of articles each month with advice on health, diet, injuries, workouts or just plain comical stories with anecdotes on life of a runner in general. Definitely a magazine everyone should pick up once and hold onto forever.

Live to Run-Run to live

This magazine became a fast favorite for me not long after I started running. I subscribe to it and feel I cannot live without it because it's an excellent source of information on races, nutrition, and it keeps me highly motivated. I've learned how to purchase proper fitting shoes for my feet (I'm a slight overpronator) using their "Shoe Buying" guides and by watching their recommendations and I've learned how to layer in "less than favorable" weather. I'm from the northeast and the weather here doesn't always cooperate with me (I hate snow and driving rains).

I feel it's the best magazine for anyone who likes to, or wants to, run at any running level (beginner to marathon champ). It's always full of interesting, informative articles and great motivational pictures (some of which adorn my walls for extra motivation).

If you're serious about running and want a more focused magazine I recommend you supplement your reading of this magazine (Runner's World) with the "Running Times" magazine. I read both and find them highly compatible and they don't "clash" on information, so you won't be confused about nutrition, shoes, training, etc., you'll only be supplemented.

I live from issue to issue of "Runner's World" and can often be found literally jumping for joy when my next issue arrives at my mailbox. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Are you running to get your next Runners World?

You don't have to be an marathoner or a runner who runs 7 days a week to enjoy Runners World. From articles on running faster, to shoe reviews, to the race calendar, Runners World has got it all.
This magazine is what one would call an all around runners magazine. I say this because I am a runner who runs 30 miles a week, and I love this magazine deeply. But I also have friends and family members that run once a week and are only slow joggers that also love this magazine.
The articles rang from the non-competitive runners guide to "runner a faster marathon." This magazine has got it all. Every kind of runner can find something for him or her in it. It has tips on racing and shoe buying so you are not oblivious to how to race or buy shoes.
A friend of my who subscribes to a different running magazine once asked me why I choose Runners World over the rest. I told him that Runners World has everything for everyone, and all other running magazines that I have seen focus on one kind of runner. But I also said that the magazine gives you an insight on whats going on in the running world. Like who is an up and coming running that we should be looking for in the future, and what races have happened, who won them and what races are too come. I finally told him that the magazine should put you in the running world, and Runners World does that.

Keeps you in pace

I have been reading Runner's World magazine for only 4 months, but it has helped me greatly. My life consists of much running since I'm in the Varsity Cross-Country team, so i rely on this magazine to give me tips on how to improve my time. In Runner's World you will always find articles that not only improve your personal time but also inspire you to do the best you can. Recently, I remember reading an article about a surviving cancer patient who ran a marathon and was touched by how so many strong people can overcome such hard diseases. Not only does this magazine provide you with inspirational stories of runners, but Runner's World also keeps you in pace with many of the world's top runners and has many pictures capturing their moment of victory. This magazine is one of the best magazine because it motivates us to run and live a healthy live.

This made me such a better runner

I bought this magazine over a year ago and I thought that this magazine would just give you tips on running better. But this magazine did more than that. It gave me tips on how to recover faster, how to heal injuries faster, running stradegies and it gives advice to men and women. This is the only running magazine that I have ever read so I can't compare this to any other magazines but I am going to stick with this one. When you subscribe to Runners World, they will send you a packet in the mail and in there is the runners guide which is the first step in making you run better, and also in there is offers on books and other stuff but forget about the offers and just read the runners guide. I really enjoy this magazine and I hope this magazine will help you out with your running.

Eyes Glued to the page

For us runners there isnt much out there in the way of magazines. There are a ton of self help books and medical guides, but to find out what other runners think on a monthly basis is virtually unheard of. Runners world is an escape for me it lets me drift off and think about running and the pain I endure during it but mostly the feeling of accomplishment when I finish. In side this magazine there are helpful opinions, runners tips and memories of some runner's favorite times. It includes specials each month to help improve your speed, form or mental aspects of running. One of the best things is that it is written and edited by runners. There are no out of shape writers at this magizine. The writers often tell of how they take running breaks in the middle of the day. This sounds like the ideal work to me. Some of these writers have been the top in the US and world during their times and are glad to share their experiences with you. I highly recomened this magazine to any runner that is beginning, in their prime or experienced with many years of running.

Need some inspiration?

Most of the time, especially in the cold and snow of the Minnesota winters, I need a big nudge to get me to poke my nose out the door. Runners World really gets me going. I just get so enthused reading each and every article. In fact, if you are feeling depressed, pick up a Runners World and you will quickly marvel at the accomplishments of people with disabilities, the elderly, people from all walks of life. I thoroughly recommend Runners World to the athlete as well as the non-athlete. It also contains excellent reviews on shoes and clothing which can give a person good ideas on what type of shoe, etc. to look at for the type of foot they have and their running style. I give it four stars!

Beginner-friendly...seriously

I've been buying Runner's World off and on for years and everytime I pick up a copy, I never feel warded off the sport. I'm trying to train for a triathlon and everytime I pick up a magazine relating to triathlons in general, I feel like I'm the laziest ass on the planet. I'm not going to not do one because of this but it doesn't really help motivate a beginner. I love Runner's World because it's all-inclusive, for any level, for any age.

I don't get that daunting feeling I get when I pick up a tri mag and I think for anyone who needs that reassurance on a constant basis, RW really helps out.
