Reviews For Good Housekeeping Magazine

Good Housekeeping: A 20 yr. history

I first started reading Good Housekeeping when I had been married for several years. I have to admit, what first caught my interest was the fiction novelette they print each month. It is taken from a best selling novel and condensed for the magazine. I loved the novelette and the short stories and always found myself looking forward to the next one.

However, over the years I find myself checking each month for the recipes, articles on health and I love the articles on fashion and make-up. I have gotten truly hooked on Good Housekeeping. Their articles are well written and full of useful content.

They also have articles on consumer needs and on relationships and family issues. Last month's issue had an article on Julia Roberts and I look forward to their celebrity stories each month also.

So whether you're looking for a good recipe, how to lose 10lbs. or just want to read a good novelette, GH has it.

Good Reading

I have been a subscriber to Good Housekeeping for several years now, and have no intention of ever giving it up. This is a magazine that covers all bases: cooking, gardening, tips on etiquette, household advice, celebrity interviews, fashion and fiction to name just a few! Every month this magazine offers something of interest to everyone, young or old. A few months ago they featured favorite Holiday Cookie recipes they have printed over the years, and I was overjoyed to find Date Pinwheel Cookies - a specialty my Mom has been baking since she got married over 50 years ago! Seeing how that was when the recipe had first appeared, we now know where she got it!! Thanks Good Housekeeping!

Good read with every issue

I have read Good Housekeeping for many years. My Mother-in-law gave me a subscription for it. I really look forward to it coming in the mail each month.

I like all the recipes they have & have used some of them before. They also have very informative Medical articles that explain things to you in terms you can comprehend. They always give up to date articles.

I have found in the Consumer Matters section that one or two of the things on their recall list I or someone I know had them. It is a great way to be informed about that sort of thing.

The Helpful Hints.& Advise columns seem to help alot of people. I have used the Heloise tips a few times.

I have to admit, one of my favorite parts is the Novel they have every month. I love to sit down & read it the first day. Always a good read there.

Staple at my house

I feel like I have grown up with Good Housekeeping magazine. My mom read it and it seemed like a ticket to the grown up world! I never miss an issue of Good Housekeeping magazine. I watch the rack at the checkout each time I'm there to see if the new issue is there yet. The articles are always interesting and pertaining to my life in some way. The recipes are terrific .... my family is ALWAYS appreciative when I add something new to the rotation! Hints from Heloise is one of those columns that I feel like I've grown up with and the etiquette column seems to just grow with the times. Thank you Good Housekeeping for changing right along with me!

Good Housekeeping for All

Good Housekeeping magazine is the very first magazine I subscribed to, when I married, 23 years ago. Over the years I have subscribed to many magazines, but Good Housekeeping is the only one that I have never stopped subscribing to. Out of all the "women's" magazines currently available (and that is a very long and varied group!), I believe Good Housekeeping is the only one that is consistently full of quality, in-depth articles. Often I read interviews in other magazines that sound very much as if the person being quoted was not actually interviewed by that magazine. They may be full of superficial information about the interviewee, but the article may lack focus and depth. In contrast, when I read an article or interview in Good Housekeeping, I feel sure it will be worth my reading time. I know that it will contain accurate, useful information, and be well written, to boot! I enjoy the columnists that appear every month, also, especially Heloise, with all her handy tips and information. Good Housekeeping is one magazine I intend to continue reading, for many years to come.

Best Overall

From all the magazines my wife tells me to get or order for her, this one always rises to the top. she likes a magazine to have a variety of items to offer and time and again she praises this as the best.
There are articles on women issues, politics, fashion, and much much more.
She especially likes the constant effort they put in to having a nice variety of new and interesting recipes (and i dont mind that much).
there are many magazines she tries but after one or 2 times she gets bored with them and says there is nothing in these 100 pages, but Good houskeeping always has a full and interesting issue.

If you want to get her something she will enjoy throughout the year, order her a subscription, it is a welcome site when it arrives.

House wife & mother magazine

I love this magazine. Its full of great articles and feedback and household questions and great recipes! It is for all ages from as young as 16 right up to 100 if you have it.

My mother faithfully read this magazine and when I got married 15 1/2 years ago, I asked my mom when I moved out, what would be a good magazine for me to buy and read to come to my new home and she said without any doubt Good Housekeeping. And it was true.

I learned some good and tried recipes that I still use to this day. I love the yellow pages in the magazines and love the fact that it shows the recalls on all sort of items. I love that they feature some great woman on the cover and my favorite issue is May 1999 the McCaughey septuplets and what a wonderful story that was and to see how the children have grown! I loved it and put it away for keeps.

They always have great Health,Nutrition and fitness tips and ideas. I love how they have in the news stories. And Etiquette for today and Heloise how many of us just LOVE her and her helpful hints! Love their short stories. Just a all around great magazine!

Great Reading

I have subscribed to Good Housekeeping for years, mainly because I love its up-to-date, informative health articles and interviews with newsworthy individuals. What makes it a better value than others of its genre, like Woman's Day and Family Circle, is the fiction they publish most months (most of which are novels from well-known authors). This increases the value of the magazine when you consider the cost of paperbacks. I also like the interviews they conduct and publish on well-know people--they are trustworthy and believable. The one thing I can't get too excited about is the recipe collection. Although they look delicious, I have found only a few to "try" through the years.

A Clear Winner

I started reading Good Housekeeping in elementary school. I am now married going on twenty years and will gladly tell you that this is the best magazine around. It always has loads of ideas for everyday as well as for the holidays. Recipes galore for the beginner to the advanced chef. This magazine never seems to date itself or to become out of time. I always look forward to each issue. There are always interesting topics and health issues discussed with the latest in advances highlighted each month. They also tell you whom has been awarded the Good Housekeeping seal of approval and they also test products and tell you which ones are worth buying. I cannot say enough good praise for this magazine. If you have never read it before I suggest that you pick up and issue and enjoy yourself.

I love this magazine!

Good Housekeeping is a wholesome, clean, serious magazine. Various topics that may be found in an issue - how to raise children, household tips, financial help, or marriage advice - suggest that the magazine is geared towards the middle-aged to the older woman. I'm married and only in my 20s, but I still get so much out of reading the articles and advice anyway.

I absolutely love this magazine! I was looking for a magazine with good, long articles to read, and I found this great one. They even re-designed the look, and it's excellent. Everything is more organized, clearly separated into their respective sections, and each page is clearly marked with the section header so I'll always know which section I'm on.

I particularly enjoy the articles about real-life triumphs and tragedies, Talk to Me by Joy Behar about relationship advice, and Peggy Post's Etiquette Dilemmas.
