Other features are photos of children in beautiful, natural settings, vacation ideas, humorous articles, and even recipes. Truly, something for everyone. A beautiful magazine

Birds and Blooms was recommended to me by someone in a gardening chat room several years ago. I subscribed to it and have been addicted since!

My favorite thing about Birds and Blooms is that it teaches you not only how to grow a beautiful plant garden, but how to plant a TRUE living garden. I love for my yard and garden to be filled with wildlife and this magazine has taught me how to attract a variety of birds, butterflies and other wonderful critters to my garden. I have learned what plants attract certain animals and also what types of feed to put in feeders.

The pictures in this magazine are outstanding. Each month they feature a "flying flower" which is a butterfly or bird. The article gives you information on this beauty, its habitat, eating and often mating habits, and then goes on to explain what to do to make your garden more attractive to this species.

Readers of this magazine also contribute to its success. Readers are encouraged to submit photos and explanations of their own success stories with their gardens. One of my favorite articles described how a reader trained a blue bird to eat out of his hand!

The magazine also teaches you to garden in an environmentally friendly manner. That is, to use organic fertilizers, and pesticides. Also, many pests can be controlled by encouraging "good" insects to inhabit your garden.

Since subscribing to Birds and Blooms, I have planted a fabulous garden. It is not only beautiful for me and my guests to look at, but it is a buffet for lots of animals who are just as beautiful as my plants.

Garden Fun

I love Birds & Blooms because of its descriptive articles, its beautiful photographs and because there are no ads. I started receiving Birds & Blooms 1.5 years ago and still love it. I always find something interesting to read. They have had several good articles on attracting not just birds but butterflies too. I have created 2 areas in my yard to attract both birds and butterflies. We added a large pond to our yard as a water feature both can enjoy. I can't recommend this magazine enough if you like birds and other flying friends. I have purchased issues for friends to enjoy. It also gives great examples of how people have changed their yard by themselves with little outlay of money, just lots of time.

Fascinating

This magazine is wonderful. Beautiful illustrations, and interesting articles and ideas. I learn about many kinds of birds and other garden animals and insects. Also, about plants. Many good and helpful hints. Very little or no advertising. Learn about birds from all over the country. There is information about different types of bird houses and how to make different kinds of bird houses. You can read recipes how to make bird feed and which kind of feed is best for what kind of birds. There is a lot of information about gardening, and about plants. Also, what kind of plants attract butterflies, birds, etc. I love this magazine, and share it with many friends and family members. They love it too!

Amazing Photography and Content

The wonderful photographs of birds, bird happy yards, and the gardens everyday people have created keep me reading this magazine over and over again. I truly appreciate the fact that there is no distracting advertising . . . a rarity today. I have gotten many ideas for my garden, and love reading how others have created their little spots of heaven.

My favorite pictures, suggestions and articles are on birds. Since becoming addicted to Bird's and Blooms, my yard has become a haven for hungry little birds of all kinds. I have learned of many ways to attract them, the types of feeders, food, and houses they prefer, how to attract with water in winter and summer, and how to identify the birds that visit my yard. The butterflies and tenacious squirrels my yard now attracts is an added pleasure, and thanks to Birds and Blooms I can identify some of the butterflies now and know what plants attract them.

I most heartily recommend this magazine, and encourage anyone to purchase a subscription to this very reasonably priced magazine as a gift for that hard to buy for person who loves birds and flowers. The magazine is written for and about you, your neighbor, your town, and not about some designer's idea of beauty.

I think I shall go pick up one of the many Birds and Blooms I keep around the house. They certainly brighten my day.

My favorite magazine!!!

My mother has the subscription to this magazine and I can't wait until it arrives! I read it before she does. It has a concept that is very personal and helps people to feel they are a part of something wonderful. I like the fact that it's not loaded with a lot of experts talking over your head and overwhelming you at the same time like some other garden magazines. There is not a single article that I don't enjoy. I read it cover to cover. I also love the fact that it's not filled with wasteful adds that I'm not the least bit interested in. It also makes me feel that I can have a earth friendly garden that is incredibly beautiful too! My mother is making me get the subscription this year in my own name. I wouldn't change a thing. Keep up the wonderful work! Gigi.

If you try it you'll like it

I love to sit and watch the birds eat out of my bird feeders and nest in my birdhouses. And to watch the seeds and flowers that I planted grow makes me feel great inside. Because I love both birds and gardens, I decided to try Birds & Blooms to see if it would give me some helpful tips and ideas. When I got my first issue free I loved it.

It gave me helpful tips on how to attract certain birds and which flowers help attract birds. The article in the magazine are wonderful. People share their photos and stories they have to tell about birds making nests in funny places and how the birds plant seeds for them.

It has a section for readers to share question and answers. Here you can ask people if they have certain seeds that they would like to share or you can ask how to care for a certain tree or shrub. Birds & Blooms has fun ways to build squirrel feeders, bird feeders, and houses. You can also buy unique feeder and houses. And like the others opinions about Birds & Blooms, the photos are great.

If your like me and love the birds and flowers you'll love this magazine. If you try it, you'll like it.

Best Bloomin' Birds

If you want a magazine with content and no commercials, this is the magazine for you.
The magazine is packed full of beautiful pictures of "Birds and Blooms". When the magazine arrives you can't wait to delve into it. Even those of us who don't have a lot of time on our hands can browse through it quickly and feel completely satisfied.
The magazine contains interesting tidbits of information on everything from pansies to Purple Martins.
The showcase of backyards is one of my favorite articles. In it we get a peek at one of the readers backyards and then we can drool and wish we had the time or talent to have our backyard just like theirs.
Another favorite spot in the magazine are the feeders and birdhouse pictures that the readers have submitted. It's amazing what someone can come up with.
This magazine is for anyone who enjoys bird watching and beautiful flowers or if you just like to dream about them.
