Reviews For Parents Magazine

From Health & Behavior to Products & Crafts

This parenting magazine is encyclopedic, covering pregnancy to teenagers, and a myriad of topics.

Some of my favorite sections: the medical updates and articles - for example a terrific one in the current issue on over the counter drugs just in time for cold and flu season; the product updates and comparisons - the stroller issue and car seat issue were great; and while my son is too young for developmental/behavior issues now, the articles will be terrific resources for the future. The age appropriate sections are great but could be larger.

The June 2000 issue has a great health section which includes outdoor hazards, information on bugs and poison ivy, sunburn hints - in short, the summer guide to taking care of your child.

As an art educator, I applaud the arts and crafts sections that run most months - e.g. Valentines. One of the reasons I went into art education was because my mother spent time doing these types of projects with us. The ones in the magazine are not time consuming, use everyday stuff, and promote parent/child bonding and creativity. A winner!

I could pass on the fashion/beauty information for Mom - there are plenty of other magazine to cover that - give me more kid stuff.

I get Baby Talk, American Baby and will start getting Working Mother. This is seems to be the best of all!

Chock full of great info!

If you are expecting a new child or already have one, this magazine is an excellent source for information on child development.
After receiving a trial membership issue, I read the magazine from cover to cover and immediately filled out the full subscription form.
This magazine is packed with information from age ranges, birth and on up.
Expecting mothers can also expect some great articles on "what to expect" and health and exercise issues.
There's nothing like reading from experts exactly what your child is doing and at the exact time. Phew! You are a great parent after all!
You can also read on health issues for your child, like medications, when and how to administer, and vaccination schedules.
This magazine really takes the guess work out of child development and makes you feel more at ease with the great writing, and comforting style.

Versatile and Current

With two children, ages 7 and one, Parents is the one magazine I trust to have something for both ages in it. Many other sources have school age information or cater to the tot set. Parents has a great blend to cover information pertaining to children of all ages, even covering marriage and sex. I may not agree with every author's views, but there's never an issue that doesn't manage to present a new angle on something I've been wrestling with.

I look forward to each month's "As They Grow" section, as well as those embarrassing moments (it doesn't hurt to find out we're not alone in life's little "gotchas")! Each season brings new fashion styles and activities to plan with children. "Can You Help?" makes us realize that no matter what our current frustration is, be it in-laws or stages of a child's behavior, there's always someone out there with the same dilemma and others willing to share information.

With the discounted price on a subscription, Parents is an economical must-have for anyone with children.

The best parent magazine

I simply love this magazine. I have a subscription to Parenting and Child, as well, and Parents is by far the superior of the three. It has accurate and up-to-date information. The articles are both informative and sensitive. Advice columns are to-the-point and honest, but also show a very caring side to the columnist. I look forward to every issue. My favorite article from the May 2000 issue was entitled "Life After Lucy." It found a sensitive way of dealing with a very emotional issue of having a stillborn child, and though I've never been in this situation, I felt such empathy for the parents. Great magazine for first-time parents and grandparents! (Other magazines not as good, but still recommended: Parenting, Family Life, and Child)

Great for any parent

Parents magazine is such a valuable resource for anyone with children or anyone that is expecting. It provides pages of great advice, and it talks a lot about health and safety and family life. Their section ?As They Grow? is great because it specifically talks about the age of your children. This magazine has so much useful information, they talk about everything and it helps you to better understand your children, and their needs. I would definitely recommend this magazine to anyone that is expecting, has children, or even takes care of children. The knowledge you gain helps both you and your family.

Great Resource!

Parents magazine is the best parenting magazine available today. Each issue is packed with informative articles and funny stories all about things that parents are interested in. They have many great sections including a monthly dilema where other parents write in their tips, and an embarrassing kids section. Each article is easy to read and full of good tips. Articles span a wide age group. I am able to find helpful articles that relate to my 15 month old and my eleven year old.

The advertisements are even geared towards Parents specific audience and I have found many products that I have purchased as a result of reading the ad.

Parents provides readers with lots of opportunities to write in or even enter pictures of their kids. Very informative and helpful magazine. I definitely recommend this resource for every parent.

Great for new parents

This is the best parenting magazine by far. I have read a lot of parenting magazines and Parents has the most useful information out there. I got my first subscription to this magazine from my mom when I was pregnant with my daughter and I have renewed it for the past two years. I love the ages and stages part of the magazine that gives information that is helpful for the age of your child. It also has many fun things to do with your child that are age apropriate. It has great articles that are most helpful to new moms that may be unsure about the progress of their baby and interesting articles that keep us thinking. When I am done reading it my daughter loves to look through it at all the pictures they have of all the babies. They also have great contests going on all the time. I would recommend this magazine to everyone that has children.

I love this Magazine!

I love Parents Magazine. It has so many interesting articles in it. I actually read it then save it to use as when my son gets older. My son loves looking through it also although he can not read it he loves looking at the pictures of the kids in it. It was a very helpful resource when i was trying to get my son to sleep through the night. I had found an article in one of the issues with many helpful suggestions. My best friend recommended this magazine to me originally and i am so glad
she did. I am one of those mothers who loves to read about different parenting styles and suggestions. Parents Magazine offers all of that plus more.

Very informative

When I was pregnant with my first baby, I got so worried how I will manage because I have never had the chance to take care of a new born or even baby sit one for a while. I bought any and all magazines for parents so that I can get all the information and help I could. Amongst all the magazines, this proved to be the most informative and best.
It has so many sections and so many advises for parents that by only reading this magazine I thought myself as an expert mother, even before my baby was born!!!
I will definitely recommend it to any person who is a new mother , but it is best source of info for first time parents
