Reviews For Twist Magazine

Another magazine with my favorite star...then......BOMB....

I just once bought it because Jessica Simpson was on the cover of the February 2004 issue. I collect all magazines with her on the cover, I thought this one would be the same TONS of advertisements and stupid fashion and make-up advice! But, No! I fell in love with the magazine it has boy advice, questions about your body you'd perfer not to ask your mother, and great quizzes. I recommend this magazine for girls 13-16! It is defenitely my fav magazine! If you haven't already looked at it go out and buy it now! You'll love it! Its not all about celebritys theres also a section where pros answer quesyions about your body and the general things you may need help with. It also comes with a large poster each month double-sided.

*Very Cool*

I think this magazine is really good. It gives you all the latest gossip on the best stars. It even answers your Questions about some of the tabloids like:Are Jessica & Nick really over? - I think it's pretty wholesome too. The make-up tips are great. It's the average teen girl's fave mag.

Twist Magazine

I think that J-14 and Pop Star Magazines are better. But I say this is a 4-star rating to me. It gives you cool info on the latest celebrities. They have some celebrities tell you it's okay if you have like getting your period or growing breasts at a young age, and said that they had stuff like that too when they were like in Junior High. I didn't really expect that but that was nice of them to share that with the public. They also have the hot boys section, which is kinda ewwww for my age though. They have the fasion section, some teen's hilarious and embarrising stories section, quizes and sooo much more that I can't remember. If you're 13 or younger, you might want to show your this to parents so they can approve this magazine, if you don't then just skip the yucky, icky, and in-appropriate pages. Sorry if this review sounded boring to you, just a kid ya know.

Good, but basically the same as J-14 and M

Twist is overall a good magazine for teen girls ages 12-17, particulary those who like to read about celebrities, fashion, and beauty the most. It gives you the most updated info on TV, music, and movies too, which is a nice thing. The main focus is celebrities, however. Twist features everything that girls like to read about- celebrity gossip and rumors, posters and pinups, fashion and beauty hints, embarrasing moment stories, and more. It's a little bit more mature then J-14, M, Popstar, etc., so there are some topics about sex, romance, etc.

Like I mentioned before, this magazine is basically the same as J-14 and M- they have mostly the same articles, features, and posters, but that's not a reason to miss out on this magazine. I would mostly recommend Twist for those who like these types of magazines but would like one that's a bit more mature and stylish.

If I could I'd give -10 stars...

What is it with these gossip magazines?? Please tell me, because I truly think NO ONE in their right mind would ever subscribe to this garbage. All it is is mindless crap that the media puts into kids minds, while not having anything important else in the magazine. Unless your 10 years old, do NOT subscribe to this. There are better magazines out there fortunately, like Seventeen and CosmoGIRL! which aren't nearly as filled with garbage like this. The reason you don't see J-14 or this magazine or any other magazine like this on the top of the magazine list is because it has no effect on people, it's for little kids and it's not mature. PERIOD.

Brainless Fluff

I am 14. I used to read this about two and a half years ago. It was a pretty good magazine back then, with health tips, some real life stories, and even things like sex questions (which is saying alot more than some of these other magazines.) It wasn't packed full of teenyboppers and cheesy glitter makeup. I liked it, and if it was still the way it was, I'd probably still be reading it. But now, it's gone. I read my last issue one year ago and gave it up. It got way to young for me. All they talk about is celebrities (aka JoJo, Good Charlotte, Hilary Duff, Jesse McCartney, Usher, etc.) Alright, two of them make some passable music, but what about the others? They're talentless! Plus, I do not see anything that would appeal to anyone over the age of 13. They refer to guys as "hotties" and "babes," and they just put the same person on every five pages! There are stupid quizzes to tell you your kissing type or how psychic you are (seriously.) Half the magazine is huge posters for your room of airbrushed teeneyboppers. If you want a magazine with real substance, try Seventeen (highly reccomended), CosmoGirl, Teen Vogue, and maybe Teen People (I don't know, it's kind of lost its fun factor.) Some of these magazines may not be "appropriate" to the people that read this magazine, but I personally think it is better for young girls to learn the hard honest truth about the world than to be obsessed with pop stars and the latest Mary-Kate and Ashley gossip.
