This has to be one of the greatest magazines out there for kids today. Chock-full of stories for the young reader, games, jokes and riddles about. Not to mention the running cartoon at the bottom of the pages. When I was young, my mom bought me a subscription to Cricket magazine. Of all the kid oriented magazines I got then, this was my favorite by far. So when my son learned to read, I decided to look up my old favorite and subscribe. Too my surprise, they now had different magazines for different ages! I grit my teeth and ordered the age appropriate one. He is 8, so he fit in the Spider catagory. When the first one came, I eagerly opened it and started to check it out. Lo-and-behold, it was great! It still had all the things I loved most about Cricket. I handed it over to the kidlet and let him look it over. At first, he wasn't too impressed. Then he started to read it and really liked it! The stories are easy enough for him to read on his own when he goes to bed. I am very pleased that the makers of Cricket came up with another winner of a magazine and I highly recommend this over all other kids magazines!

My Daughter Loves Spider!
Posted for Maddie (age 9)
My favorite part is Spider's Mailbox and the comic strips. I read every issue four times each! There are buggies that make comments and have their own stories on the bottoms of the pages. All the buggies are funny.
If you are thinking about buying this magazine for a child you know, you should know it's mostly reading, stories, and one pull out game page in each issue. I'm sure kids everywhere will love Spider Magazine as much as I do!
Spider is always a great read
My children (7,5,2) and I always get terrific belly laughs when we read the spider cartoons aloud that appear throughout the magazine in each issue. The stories, illustrations and poetry are excellent food for young (and older)minds. But our favorite feature is the cartoons!
Yet another to love in the series
My daughter started with the LadyBug series and is now into the Spider and loves the projects, stories and recipies. If her magazine isn't here on time every month the postman gets the glare when he comes *laugh*
A favorite
My daughter is reaching the age where she is a little bit old for this magazine. Yet she continues to request this magazine as a gift subscription from family each year for her birthday. She completely enjoys this magazine.
IT is a high quality, well put together magazine. The art is lovely. The pictures are bright, appealing, and only adds to the text of the magazine. My daughter particularly likes the little bugs. They are funny and cute and have running little stories through out the magazine.
Each month there is usually a game or a small craft in a pull out section of the magazine. These fascinate my daughter and we have played many of the games included in the magazines. Some of the same people appear in story to story each month such as a group of plucky young kids who have to learn to work together, solve problems and help others.
There is no advertising so this is a great magazine for young readers.
Enjoy.
A Gift That Brings Smiles
My grandchildren love these magazines. It is one gift that I can give that I know they will enjoy. Their mom reports of the smiles on their faces when they get them in the mail.
Seven Year Old Likes it!
Purchased this magazine for my seven year old grandaughter so she would have some reading over the summer. First issue didn't arrive until late September, but she did like it. She showed me the magazine when I visited and personally I think she would have liked Hilights mag better. I think the stories and articles were a little too much science oriented for her taste. Not sorry I purchased, but probably will switch to Hilights next time around.
