As a woman most men's magazines have little, or no interest to me. Maxim on the other hand is just about the most interesting magazine I've ever read.
I first became interested in this magazine from a few of my male friends. They worshipped the pictures of the gorgeous women that were featured in the magazine. I, on the other hand, became hooked on the fabulous articles. Who wouldn't like a magazine that teaches men to be better lovers.
When my boyfriend decided to subscribe I insisted that he get it mailed to my house so I could get the first look at it. I've never had the pleasure of reading a magazine where every one of the articles was well written and intriguing.
Even the interviews ask all the important questions. Though some people are more interesting then others, they still manage to make the most boring person sound wild.
Male or female you should take a look at this magazine. It's bound to make you come back for more every month.

I found Maxim by accident. While I was perusing my husband's friend's magazine rack I came upon the magazine and started scanning through it.
Although I am not a fan of magazine's that focus on women's boobs to enhance their readership, I just so happened to find Maxim very interesting.
First of all, I like the style of writing. Not only is it witty, it is also sarcastic, sardonic and fun.
The articles are from how to be good in bed to what your bowel movements tell about your diet. Of course scattered through these little tidbits of information are several pictures of women in various stages of undress.
But as a heterosexual woman, I will take the credo of many men I know who read Playboy (I only read it for the articles).
Sure Maxim is loaded with things that will offend those who are pure at heart, but what magazine that is truly good doesn't offend at least a small percentage of the population.
Whether you are looking for a good magazine to pass the time or want to see various actresses with very little on, Maxim is the one for you.

I bought the first issue of maxim and knew right away I had to get a subscription to this magazine, maxim is my one and only magazine subscription that I could not do without. For starters the women are hot needless to say that the picture quality and atmosphere where taken are one of a kind, they get the hottest chicks to pose in seductive ways that make you crazy for them.
The reading material is evenly matched with articles that get you up and close to the latest beauties on tv and movies, they have started getting more advertisements lately that I could do without but thats a part of magazine business I guess. They have a spot where they preview the latest gadgets on the market that any guy would want which in some cases can get me in trouble buying so much stuff, they also have some of the latest fashions on the market previewed. Let's face it sex sells and they have done a hell of a job in this department, for those people out there that need some help in the bedroom they have articles every month that will help any man in the sack.
I know plenty of women that read this magazine also and they agree that this is a great thing for guys and girls, so we all win here so you guy's out there that dont have this magazine do yourself a favor and go buy on you will get hooked I promise. Most of all for the price you cant lose with this one. ***** 5 star here

This magazine is a great way to learn about both men and women's sexuality. Although I am female, I LOVE THIS MAGAZINE! It delivers intellectual and intense reading; however, this magazine is written for men. All you women out there can read this magazine and show your man some little tips that you read in Maxim, or you can find out why your man has got better in bed since he's been reading Maxim. haha
Basically, this magazine is just for fun and it can help you learn different techniques to pleasure your partner (written for men, so it will tell you how to pleasure women).
This magazine is really different from Playboy and Penthouse, plus all the rest of those magazines out there. This magazine brings you to creative level with your sexuality and gives you the temptation to try new things with your partner. It gives you pictures of women, articles on different things, ranging from sex to life experiences, etc.. Don't get me wrong.. it's not all about sex, although, that's why I love it. It has fashion, it has work stuff, it has sports, and it has food. This magazine really does have it all. Kind of like reading a magazine about everything you're interested in.. even sex!
Here's one way to put it.... anyone who loves to watch Real Sex on HBO or really likes to buy Playboy, Penthouse, etc.. Give this magazine a try.. I guarantee you'll love it.
And for all those women out there who aren't afraid to read about sexuality or try something new.. and, perhaps, love women magazine's for fashion, sports, food, and career stuff.. Buy this magazine!! It's awesome!!
It really is for everyone... even if it was written for men!

I honestly can't find a better magazine for men. Maxim takes into account the third-grade like attention span of most men, and combines it with the imaturity of what seems to be an all-men publishing force. While it may seem Maxim is marketed to the single man, I've found that most girlfriends and wives enjoy this magazine as well. The pictorials are decent enough not to embarass you on and airplane, and the articles contain enough substance to make you laugh, and intrigue you. In reality, if your life consists of middle-management, beer, and an interest in the pursuit of meaningless information, this magazine is for you!
Maxim aims itself straight at what the straight male psyche likes: laughter, girls, and bizarre subjects (such as "How to Survive Torture", a topic in the September 2001 issue).
... this magazine is not just about sex and bad taste. It celebrates male life, and it does this without apology. Men have apologized far too much; the people who seem to think maleness needs to be "fixed" are maladjusted [people] who would never cut men any slack anyway, no matter how "sensitive" or politically correct men pretend to be, so men might as well party. Maxim is the technical journal of this attitude!
Maxim and some other men's magazines (like Men's Health) have discovered a formula that works to keep men reading: To-the-point articles thoroughly interleaved with humor and banter; lots of photographs and descriptive drawings; and topics ranging from sex and seduction to war and first aid. Lots of practical information and lots of truly excellent photos of sexy women that are not raunchy.
If I could only read one men's magazine, this would be it.
Always interesting, MAXIM delivers information and humor aimed squarely at the male audience. MAXIM is a hip cross between MAD Magazine (off-the-wall humor), and a censored version of Playboy (lots of bare skin, but no naughty bits showing). The results are always side-splitting, if not informative.
Part of the humor comes from how dumbed-down some of the information is, just to make sure men everywhere can understand what the editors are trying to say (and they flat-out tell you, "Hey, we dumbed this down so you'd get the point, stupid!"). Anything real in the way of education or enlightenment comes sprinkled with jokes, and photos of scantily clad beauties to ensure capturing the attention of the male reader.
Besides humor, articles talk about exercise, fashion, electronics, cars, and sex.
A men's magazine for the over-18 age group, one can expect spicy pictures, a few naughty words, and other adult-slanted humor and commentary throughout. Probably not recommended for the conservative crowd.
As a female reader, I've always thoroughly enjoyed Maxim. Sure I have to get past the loads of pictures of half-nude women (although I must admit they're hard to ignore), but there's lots of funny, interesting, if not always useful and profound, content. As a guy's girl, I always get alot of laughs out of Maxim, it's sense of humor is right up my alley, and the type of humor I'll never see in a women's magazine! Not only that, knowing men like I do, it's funny to read these articles that are geared toward you guys. Take heart, losers everywhere, there's hope; there's Maxim.
I'm an 18 year old girl at college and my roommate bought me for Christmas a subscription to Maxim because I like it so much. Sure, it can seem degrading, but it really is all in jest. This magazine is full of interesting articles, funny jokes, fair and educated reviews, and useful/useless trivia. You can easily read it from cover to cover and stay amused the entire time. Sure, there are some scantily-clad women in it, but even as a straight female I can appreciate a beautiful woman's body. Maxim doesn't mind mixing seriousness with fun, which is something that women's magazines have yet to discover. People say that Cosmo is essentially the women's equivalent of Maxim, but it's humor level is nowhere near that of Maxim. It prints funny jokes, hilarious Beat-This-Captions (my favorite feature), and isn't afraid to superimpose a beanie atop President Bush's head. It goes where truly no magazine has before; it's fascinating. Until another magazine can have such a fun-loving, yet level-headed perspective on the world, Maxim will definitely be my favorite.
First off I will state I'm a female. I enjoy reading Maxim. I don't care one way or the other for the females. The subscription is not mine but my male partners. I always look forward to him finishing a Maxim magazine so I can get my hands on it.
Maxim does not conform to the same humdrum boring articles that can be found in most any magazine. There is humor, wit, insight, and intelligence. Granted, most of it is dumbed down a bit so that anyone of reasonable intelligence should be able to comprehend and understand.
I won't deny that Penthouse and Playboy have some good articles. On occasion I can overlook the naked women to read a bit of one of those. Quite honestly if I wanted to see T&A I'd look in a mirror. As others have mentioned the women in this magazine may show some flesh but their "naughty bits" are usually covered.
I realize the "target audience" for this magazine is men. However I think there is a lot that women can learn from this magazine as well. Probably even many women who can appreciate Maxim magazine. While it may not show "naughty bits" articles many times are of an adult nature. Can't say I'd recommend letting children getting their hands on it.
