Reviews For Maxim Magazine

It's a good read.

I think what I've come to enjoy more than half-naked pictures of supposedly hot chicks, is how funny this magazine can be. There's not really any chunks of humor, but it's dipersed in a hundred different places through-out the pages. All the little comments on girls, celebrities, news, music, and pop-culture crap that a 31 year old like me can really appreciate. Often it's basic bathroom humor, but usually it's pretty witty stuff. And besides half a magazine of advertisements, there's reviews of cd's/dvd's, interviews, and almost Playboy pictorials. I'd say it's a bit better then "Stuff" and "FHM".

Hillary Duff

I don't subscribe to this magazine because buying one will usually last me a few months in the bathroom which is where I read it. You'd never catch me wasting my time reading this junk anywhere else, unless of course they have a hot chick onthe cover like Hillary duff.

Mild Diversion

Nothing too serious here. If you have time to kill and are looking for some straightforward and interesting reading it's not a bad publication. Given its slant, it is pretty concise and comprehensive for its intended readers.

Good Entertainment Value

Maxim represents one of the simpler pleasures in my otherwise complicated life. Its ability to condense popular culture into 200 some odd pages of gloss month after month, exploring music, film and video, new gadgets and clothes fashions, as well as their interviews with topical personalities continually amazes me. Even the advertisements present me the opportunity to see what name brands are moving in the ebb and flow of the marketing world. Compared to a movie or a new CD or book, this magazine holds its own in terms of entertainment value. With a subscription, this magazine costs less than a dollar an issue! I would be hard pressed to find a similar value ANYWHERE in the entertainment world. And this one has pretty girls to look at to boot.

Thanks.

Good magazine, but not as good as it used to be

I've had a subscription to Maxim for several years now, and I must say the the photo shoots are going downhill both in the quality of the pictorals and the women chosen for them. There's too many skinny model-types in it for me, and I prefer women with curves (the recent Jessica Simpson issue was a welcome change of pace, though). The articles still maintain their informative and/or witty nature, so if you only get it for the articles (yeah, right), you're making a great choice.

Some good articles, some not...

MAGAZINE REVIEW:

This is my favorite magazine.

Recently, I started to notice that the useful and interesting articles--the ones that actually offer you advice--were outnumbered by the jokes, interviews with celebs, and pictures of scantily clad women. I don't like the magazine as much as I used to, but it's still my favorite magazine. The "How To" and sex tip articles are the best; the sports facts that the magazine occasionally features are also good. In my opinion, the magazine is certainly better than "Stuff" (from the same makers of "Maxim").

Not A Bad Deal

We all know what Maxim is, a slightly rougher, non-nude version of Playboy. It is what it is, and if you like it you can't beat the price for a years subscription.

great, never was a fan before

I would always see copies of maxim at friends house and just think it was a cheesy "almost nude" version of playboy. I never realized that the articles are witty and smart. The "taste" of the magazine is a lot like the TV shows and movies I choose to watch (Always Sunny, South Park, Family Guy, and anything on Adult Swim). I am not "in love" with the fact that a almost nude lady I'll never be able to see in real life seems to be on every 5 pages or so, however seeing awesome looking people talking about the dumb and stupid stuff I really care about kinda gives me hope for our future.

What more is there to say? It's MAXIM!

This is what it is. If you like beautiful women, and some (sometimes) decent articles, then this is hard to beat. The subscription price is good, too.

Pretty Cool

This magazine provides some interesting and unique tips for the male in need of interesting and unique tips (?). One thing I do like about it is the gadget section. One thing I hate about it is the lack of detail in their car reviews. Come on! We love our cars!
