Reviews For Aviation Week & Space Technology Magazine

Ahead of the Curve

AW&ST soars in a class by itself.

The magazine is inimitable, a must-read for techies and airdales alike. Its illustrations are both attractive and intelligent (labelled when necessary). Its facts are stated clearly so that virtually any English reader can understand even the most complex issues and technologies addressed.

If it has an axe to grind, the magazine is decidedly PRO-TECHNOLOGY, PRO-AIR and PRO-SPACE. It has been "ahead of the curve" so long, it is without peer in its industry cluster, yet it is eminently readable and intelligible -- even at the high school level.

Don't mistake me -- the clarity of presentation makes this an extremely accessible magazine. It is regularly read by industry technophiles and techies just to keep current on advanced developments. Not only is it authoritative where its facts can otherwise be verified, but it has also been proven more right than wrong when it covers futuristic concepts and quiet long-range government classified projects such as the Trans-Atmospheric Vehicle/National Aerospace Plane. In that role, it has earned the sobriquet "Aviation Leak."

In the role of promoter of air travel, it presents, for example, the latest in civilian avionics, trends in airport air and ground technologies and new fuselage and wing designs.

For students and researchers alike, AW&ST's indices are an invaluable start for scoping out technologies and projects relating to air/space.

The Bible of the Aerospace Industry

Aviation Week & Space Technology is the one single magazine that an aerospace professional should read each week, if he or she can read only one! It combines a digest of the changing technologies, meaningful reporting of the evolving industry, and insightful analyses of the forces behind the changes. It is the only magazine I have found that gives a fairly even handed approach to the complete industry ranging from the government programs, to the prime contractors, to the subcontractors and end users. Technically it covers any and all aspects of subjects pertinent to the aerospace business from new research, manufacturing and management changes, "field reports" on military and civilian systems, and future plans.

Av-Week (or Av-Leak as its sometimes nicknamed!) is certainly not the only source for aerospace information. To remain current the reader should augment the coverage with more specialized journals in one's area of expertise. It is however a very good investment in general knowledge for anybody who makes their living around, in, or with things that fly!

Aviation Week

I have read this magazine for many years (20 or so) and find it extremely educational regarding anything pertaining to the aviation/space program. This includes, but is not limited to, aircraft, missiles, FAA, national defense, security, and aerospace program and NASA activities. The articles are readily understood by anyone having a technical degree or appropriate experience in a related field; and the photographic presentations are absolutely "outstanding."

Aviation Week & Space Technology

I am a 49 year old male that started subscribing to Aviation Week and Space Technology in 1980. This magazine allows me to stay in step with current events as they pertain to commercial & military aviation as well as space technology. Easy reading while sitting in your night chair or laying in bed. Additionally, this magazine gives you a heads up on companies involved in these fields and will assist you in any investment decisions you may make concerning these companies. Keeps you ahead of the pack....which can make you money or save you money.
I recommend Aviation Week & Space Technology to anyone interested in air and/or space and the companies that make it happen.

For those that want to be in the know with Aviation & Space!

aviation week & space technology

I have read it at the library before orderring the subscription, so I know it is very informative, authoritative and, when it covers a subject which interests me, I especially like it. The magazine has dozens of articles each week across the whole expanse of aviation and space related subjects with journalists who know the areas, that they cover, very well. I look for major breakthroughs in technologies, which might have something to do with space travel. I don't always see it there, but when I do it is all worthwhile.

Aviation Week & Space Technology

This publication is in my opinion, the most comprehensive and up to date review of space technology, military and commercial aviation, and to a certain extent, general aviation I have ever read. I have been subscribing to this magazine for years, and would have no idea where to go to get the information they provide, should I ever stop subscribing. That, however, will never happen!

Great content, poor editting

I have been subscribed to AW&ST for almost two full years, and have to say the magazine is great. The content is both varied and informative, and the whole world is covered fairly well. I am currently trying to figure out how I am going to scrounge up the money to renew my subscription for another year.

The only real complaint that I have had with the magazine is the poor editing. I don't expect a perfect magazine, but the frequency of simple spelling mistakes and occasional grammatical errors is astounding.
